LEEP 2024

"LEEP 2024” is a collaborative initiative with EY Global Delivery Services (EY GDS), one of the world's leading consulting firms, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.

In 2024, LEEP targets 2000 students between the ages of 17 and 22 and aims to educate and train a selected group of participants from different districts of Kerala through an organised course module and a committed resource team from EY GDS.

Bereavement Companionship Programme

The Bereavement Companionship Programme(BCP) is preparing the general society to handle death and other senses of loss with dignity and poise. This is more of a sensitisation programme that introduces the participants to the idea of handling bereavement and how they can offer support to those in grief. Since its launch in online platform, this programme has taken off online for batches inside Kerala during the Covid pandemic, there are enquiries from across the world. A session exclusive for participants from Bangladesh was conducted and more are being planned. Another one is being planned for Thailand.

God’s Own Children

God’s Own Children is a special programme designed to ensure a dignified life for children with intellectual challenges. An elaborate screening mechanism, involving people from grassroots levels, has been put in place to pick only the deserving candidates for this programme. Only children from resource limited families who own land and yet do not have proper houses are selected. Using funds mobilised from donors, a special toilet-attached bedroom designed for children with intellectual challenges is constructed. In some cases where the house itself is in very pathetic conditions, steps are taken to refurbish and renovate the house along with constructing this special bedroom for the child. In the first phase, 50 such rooms will be constructed across Kerala.

Drug Bank

Drug Banks is another critical social intervention that Mission Better Tomorrow made during the Covid-19 crisis, which has severely impacted the supply chain of pharmaceutical products. In particular, people with chronic illnesses, psychiatric issues and non-Covid problems are being relegated to the side-lines. They require medicines which are often not included in the essential drugs lists, so they find it difficult to source these life-saving drugs. While it may seem inconsequential in the short term, stopping these drugs for a prolonged period of time can cause long-term effects, even leading to organ failure in extreme cases. In response, the Nanma Foundation has decided to set up community run drug banks with support from professional organisations and civil society groups. Volunteers in the locality of the drug banks will identify individuals requiring a regular supply of uncommon medicines and requiring help to buy medicines. Drug banks are currently active in Ernakulam and Alappuzha districts, and the initiation process is underway in other districts.

MBT Learning Centres (MLC) Project

MLC Project is intended to benefit youth between the ages of 13-21 from resource limited families. The Learning Centres will be established as community centres offering access to ICT, a well-stocked library, and a community hub where special classes are conducted. The aim is to improve digital literacy, expand access to traditional and modern educational material, and increase the responsible use of ICTs in society, especially among youth from resource limited backgrounds.

Football Training Centre

Football Training Centre aims to promote sports and healthy practices among youth at an early age, and to provide professional football training to aspiring youth. Through District Football Learning Centres (DFLC), young children are provided with ample opportunities to participate in competitive sporting events. It aims to help each child gain confidence and maturity, and to equip them to meet the demands of 21st Century life. It also aims to keep our young generations away from anti-social behaviour like using narcotics and extremism.
