Pravasi Help Desk

Pandemic was a hard time for the Malayali diaspora across the world, especially those in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, where skilled and semi-skilled migrant workers are accommodated in congested dormitories and labour camps. Coupled with a loss of income and fear about the disease, many of these expats also had to worry about their families residing in Kerala. The Pravasi Help-Desk activated a helpline number through which non-Resident Keralites (NRKs) can seek help. A team of 40 committed doctors voluntarily contributed their time to address the physical and mental health needs of NRKs. Life-saving medicines were arranged for expats in various GCC countries with the help of Nanma’s supporters abroad. Non-medical help is also requested, such as assistance with visas, food materials and assistance for families back in Kerala. These requests are also fulfilled by a dedicated team of police personnel and community volunteers.

Blood banks and hospitals are given contact details of Jeevadhara contact persons from Mission Better Tomorrow.
